Reuniting after many years of solo careers, Xscape returns on tour at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on January 6, 2018 for The Great Xscape Tour with special guests Monica, Tamar Braxton, Zonnique and June’s Diary.
The American female R&B group from Atlanta, Georgia formed their group back in 1992 as Kandi Burruss, Tamecka “Tiny” Cottle, Latocha Scott, Tamika Scott and Tamera Coggins-Wynn. In 1993 Tamera Coggins-Wynn left the group.
In 1994, singles “Just Kickin’ It” and “Understanding” hit certified platinum from their album. Second album in November, 1995 “Off the Hook” also went certified platinum. Since many hits on albums and solo careers the group decided to reunite on December 1, 2017 to release new singles “Wifed Up” and “Dream Killa”.
So many fans endured their career and the popular singles they set records on. A full house of fans, danced and awaited the appearance of the 90s’ popular group “Xscape”. Being the last performance of the night, guests was entertained by other solo artist and a music group June’s Diary.
First performance by June’s Diary. The ladies are an American girl group that was formed by singer Kelly Rowland and Frank Gatson, Jr. (Choreographer/Director) in 2016. The members are Kristal Lyndriette Smith, Ashly Williams, Brienna DeVlugt, Gabrielle “Gabby” Carreiro and Shyann Roberts. They also opened up for Brandy at a sold out show at Essence Festival in 2017.
After getting the crowds started, Zonnique Pullins (Singer/Songwriter) takes center stage singing a few of her songs. The young lady comes from a hip hop family considering her mother to be R&B pioneer, Tameka “Tiny” Harris and the step-daughter of T.I.
Then you have the successful talented Tamar Braxton danced and sweep up the audiences on their feet singing her greatest hits and sharing her personal stories of her life as a wife and how she stands on her own. Tamar is an American singer, television personality and actress. In 1990, she was part of the R&B singing group The Braxtons which she formed with her sisters. Then later she formed her solo career after signing with DreamWorks Records. She then dropped the label in 2000. In 2011, Braxton reunited with her sisters for the reality show Braxton Family Values. She continues to be a successful music artist.
Before the main attraction, the well-known American singer, songwriter, producer, actress, Monica Brown, known as Monica appeared under dims lights wearing shorts with a dazzle blazer. In 1995 her album “Miss Thang” went multi-platinum with two singles “Don’t take it personal” and “Before You walk out of my life” made her a sensation artists hitting Billboard’s Top R&B singles. Her second album “The Boy is Mine” earned her a major international chart success. Also, made her a Grammy Award winner.
All great performances of the night lead to the last one that had fans on their feet. A blast from the past video hit the screen showing the Xscape’s member of the group at a young age performing live years ago. Then all four members gathered above to start one of their hits. The audiences screamed and danced. To a big surprise, most of the audiences that attended tonight were ladies. All the artists that came out to hit the tour were ladies as well. Women power of great musicians, women power of great fans can relate to the music and the words that made Xscape’s hits fantastic and so popular that fans still enjoy their music today.
