Los Angeles BET’s American Soul Premiere

BET’s American Soul premiere was presented at the Wolf Theater in North Hollywood, California on February 4, 2019.

The spectacular casts Sinqua Walls (as Don Cornelius), Kelly Price (as Brianne Clarke), Jason Dirden (as Gerald Aims), Christopher Jefferson (as Jeffrey “JT” Tucker), Iantha Richardson (as Tessa Lorraine), Shannon Kane (as Ilsa Dejarnette), Perri Camper (as Delores Cornelius), Katlyn Nichol (as Simone Clarke), Jelani Winston (as Kendall Clarke) and Executive Producers, Jesse Collins, Tony Cornelius, Devon Greggory and Jonathan Prince were in attendance.

The arrivals had a great time on the carpet sharing their experiences and the enjoyment they had being part of the group of the “American Soul” story.

“American Soul” is a story about the struggle to make Soul Train come true. The Soul Train started early 70s, filled with music, dance, fashion and glamour. The untold story of the launch on this black music show and what happened when it ended. The experience had record labels from top talent, off-camera drama from young dancers wanting the spotlight and a young Don Cornelius who sacrificed what he loved to make a dream come true.

Other celebrities stopped by to walk the carpet and enjoy the show were, Mckinley Freeman (Actor), Tank (Music Artist), Tommy V. Davidson (Comedian), Tony Cornelius daughter Christina Cornelius, Robert Townsend (Actor) with daughter Skye Townsend, Darrin Henson (Actor), Barry Brewer (Actor), Jahi Di’Allo Winston (Actor), Carl Craig (Music Producer), Robi Reed (Casting Director), Vanessa Bell Calloway (Actress), Tammy Roman (TV Personality), and Joseph Lee Anderson (Actor). Scott Mills (President BET Networks) and Connie Orlando (Head of Programming at BET Networks) came by as well to support the casts.

The show will include performances by Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

The people who grew up watching Soul Train would really get to know what happened while making the music show a success and how it affected those in involved. The series aired on February 5, 2019 on BET.
