Veterans honored by Suzanne Delaurentiis Foundation at the Luxe Hotel.

On September 24, 2021, Suzanne Delaurentiis Foundation honored a few veterans at the Luxe Hotel in Los Angeles, California.


“Celebrate, remember and honor was the theme of the luncheon and gifting suite. The celebration was given for the brave men and woman that are in the United States military.

The red-carpet entrance welcomed Veterans, celebrities, and guests. The honored Veterans were Vietnam Veteran, Robert Wengen, SGM Travis Parker, Sergeant Major Phillip “Vinnie” Jacques, Retired Major, Jimmy Glover along with his son PFC, Gavin Glover. Entrepreneur Toby Thomas attended as well.


A brief background about the honorees:


Vietnam Veteran Robert Wengen

He served from March 1968 to March 1971. He was in the advanced Infantry training that trained for bomb disposal and underwater demolition. He served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam.



SGM Travis Parker

Enlisted in the Army in 1998. He completed Infantry (11m) OSUT in 1998. He currently serves as the Command Sergeant Major for 1-186 Infantry deployed in Support of community hospital support. He has been awarded many metals.



Toby Thomas

Toby is an Entrepreneur and Philanthropist that has held numerous Veterans and First Responders events to highlight those suffering from PTSD.



Retired sergeant Major, Phillip V. Jacques

He enlisted in the United States Army in 1990. He is a Veteran of Operation Desert Storm where he served as a Paratrooper in the world’s only Airborne 155mm Artillery Battalion. He also is a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).


Retired Major, Jimmy Glover

He retired from the United States Army in 2014 after 24 years of service. He was awarded the Bronze Star Metal. He was also deployed as a Commander and combat leader three times to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division.




Private First Class (PFC), Gavin Glover

He is continuing his family tradition and is currently in the United States Army Infantry assigned in the 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) in Washington D.C.



Several celebrities joined the event. Max Martini (Actor), Eric Roberts (Actor), Michael Pare (Actor), Lanett Tachel (Actress), Laura Walker (Actress), Don Most (Actor), Catherine Healy (Actress), Shaun Kosta (Writer/Director) were among those who walked the red carpet.
