Rainbow Lagoon Park in the City of Long Beach, California was a perfect location for the 30th Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival on August 12, 2017 presented by Rainbow Promotions, LLC. The festival started on August 11th, but will continue through August 13th.
Jazz is music that originated in African American communities of New Orleans, United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, but has remain popular until this day. Jazz music has different musical styles such as rhythm and blues, gospel, cool jazz, blues, ragtime, smooth jazz, etc. That is why so many people love the style of music.

The festival brought thousands of fans to hear great performances. The main stage presented jazz talents. Boney James a four-time Grammy Award nominee for his Pop Instrumental Album. Will Downing an American Singer / Songwriter. Nathan East an American Jazz, R&B and rock bass player and vocalist with more than 2,000 recordings. Eric Darius an American Contemporary Jazz, R&B & Pop saxophonist, vocalist, songwriter and Producer. Bridgett Bryant an R&B / Soul singer. Jazz in Pink is an all- star female musical group. Talents such as Ndugu Chancler, Bobby Lyle, Craig T. Cooper and Alphonso Johnson also participated.

Kimberly Benoit (President of Rainbow Promotions) and Ozzie Benoit (Festival Producer) with many years of producing event coordination brought live entertainment with the excellent line up of performers.

The 2nd stage entertainment was inspired by Health & Wellness. Expert wellness speakers and leaders were on hand. Treatment centers, food sampling and more musical entertainment was provided. Speakers offered tips on a healthier lifestyle and how to focus in de-stressing. Charles Wright, Dr. Joseph Bryant, Jr., Arisa Molineaux, Dr. Safa Maiwand, Dr. Mary Inku, Pren'tis Knight, Charlie Jordan Brookins, Jamie Reiei ferguson, Subriana Pierce, Chef Darrell Smith, Chef Ewanda Jackson were among the speakers to speak about secrets to living well, and other health wellness subjects.
Jazz lovers that attended got to enjoy magnificent music, delicious food, and fun. Vendors were on hand to sell their products. 94.7 The Wave had a booth also. The marina breeze set a comfortable setting for the park atmosphere to enjoy an outdoor concert.
For the three days of the festival, fans received a great performances by: Marcus Miller, Rachelle Ferrell, Jazz Funk Soul featuring Jeff Lorber, Paul Jackson Jr., Everette Harp, Boney James, Will Downing, Nathan East, Eric Darius, Ndugu Chancler featuring Bobby Lyle, Alphonso Johnson, Craig T. Cooper, Bridgette Bryant, Poncho Sanchez, Ramsey Lewis and Urband Knights, Najee, Bob James, Spyro Gyra, and Al Williams Jazz Society.
