Athletes vs. Cancer – Matt Barnes and Snoop Dogg hosted a Celebrity Flag Football Game to fight canc

The last event of the “Athletes vs. Cancer” weekend was hosted by Matt Barnes and Snoop Dogg at the Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, California on August 12, 2018.

This event was the last of four that has brought many celebrities and fans to raise funds to benefit cancer research. Matt Barnes and Snoop Dogg teamed up with celebrities and athletes to have fun in playing flag football for those who came out to support a great cause.

Matt lost his mother in 2007 due to cancer. His heartbreak lost made him decide to act and began hosting free health clinics, renting mobile screening units, providing clinics for early detention and later providing financial support to help families pay for funerals, hospice care, surgeries and some much more. He continued his conquest by starting Athletes vs Cancer which we all know the benefits of this organization.

With such events as these, it benefits the organization to fight against Cancer. This is why Mr. Barnes arranged these fun activities.

At the game, Snoop Dogg seemed to have a great time entertaining the crowd with a dance once his team made the first touch-down. The crowd cheered, but Matt Barnes team wasn’t ready to give up.

A few of the team members were Terrell Owens (Former NFL Player), Al Harrington (Former NBA Player), JaVale McGee (NBA Player), Carmelita Jeter (USA Olympian / Athlete), Kerry Rhodes (Actor / Former NFL Player), Adrian Dev (Actor), Problem (Rapper), Tank (R&B Music Artist), Red Grant (Actor), Nelly (Rapper) and Brittney Elena (Model). On the side lines you had Shawne “Lights Out” Merriman (Former NFL Player), Reggie Bush (Former NFL Player), and Big Boy (Radio Host) cheering on the teams.

Other celebrity guests came out to watch the game were Stephen Belafonte (Film Producer), Lindsay McCormick (Film Actress), Rotimi (Actor), Keith Robinson (Actor), Claudia Alende (Model), Farrah Abraham (TV Personality), April Jones (TV Personality), Daphne Wayans (TV Personality), Baron Davis (Former NBA Player), Brandon Larkins (Actor – Monogamy S2), Elijah Banx (Hip Hop Artist), Lance Fresh (TV Personality), Omar Gooding (Actor) were only a few and the list goes on.

Overall, it was a great success and a fun event for all to enjoy. It doesn’t matter who won the game, what matters is the cause behind it.

Athletes vs. Cancer was founded by NBA Player Matt Barnes which is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that provides resources, support and advocacy for families affected by cancer. In partnership with other athletes, celebrities, and influencers, this organization funds research, education, and outreach to promote early detection of cancer.
